Take Your Dog to Play

Now that the weather might be getting warmer(snow was predicted in today’s forecast) going to the Dog Park is possible again. You can take your dog to the dog park all year, but now it will start getting crowded again. It’s great that Charlottesville created so many places for dogs to play (Darden, Azalea, etc.) Darden Park is so close to my house for me to be able to run down and let my dog play, and it’s great for him to socialize with other dogs. Yesterday a lady yelled at me because she thought my dog was being ferocious, but he just looks ferocious, he’s actually very sweet and playful. It’s kind of pointless to me if the big open space they created is just for dogs to stand around and be sweet, I want my dog to run around and get tired.
Am I missing the point?
Why are some people that bring their dog into the dog park so protective?
