The Box, Round 2

March 24th 2008 by Kelly in Restaurant

I tried The Box again this weekend. I went at 7 on Saturday night and there were still 3 tables available even though I decided to sit at the bar. Somehow the menu looks different now then from the opening, it seems like they’ve already taken a few menu items off of their already sparse menu. If you’re a vegetarian I think The Box is a great solution for a tasty way to eat out. I was disappointed in the lettuce wraps, maybe because I was thinking they would be more like P.F. Changs, that was silly because it was nothing like that. It was really like a boring salad with no salad dressing that I struggled to eat with chop sticks, I gave up. The wrap consisted of ice burg lettuce covered with chopped carrots and a little bit of avocado.

My dinner was much more satisfying. I got lo mein noodles, curry sauce, garlic chicken, and chilies. I love spicy food and my dinner made my eyes water a little it was so spicy, so I thought it was very good. I would recommend getting the small bowl of noodles, the large bowl is just too many, and I can put away some food. Instead of getting the large bowl, add another skewer of meat to your dinner. The chicken and steak are both very good. Eating noodles with chop sticks is tricky, I need more practice so I need to plan my return visit.

What did you think of the box?

Which type of noodle do you recommend?

I like the noodles, too. Dry the homemade box shaped dumplings. The Panang Curry is especially tasty. I think they will expand the menu over time.

Haven’t been to the box yet, but plan to go by soon - for lunch one of these days. Panang Curry sounds good.
