Avoid Traffic and Know What To Expect

Dash Navigation will begin selling 2-way navigation systems this week to create a network for drivers to navigate and avoid high traffic areas and to help estimate their trip time. The dash navigation system is a $599 GPS unit, that will be placed on the drivers dash and will communicate with other drivers on your route. The device will link to drivers that are ahead of you on the road to let you know what you should expect. The GPS is color coded to show areas of congestion with orange or red and when an area is clear the map will be green. The more users with a dash in your area, the more accurate the data will be. The Dash is being tested by several users in the D.C. area since it has one of the heaviest traffic cycles. I think $599 is very expensive to pay for a GPS, I think it would be smart if they would start integrating these types of devices on cellphones.
Do you think the Dash would be helpful for Charlottesville drivers?
What do you think about a GPS system that can let people know your location at all times?
