May 9th 2008 by Kelly in Local Event

If you’re still looking for something special to do with your mom on Mother’s Day, I have an idea for you. The Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens in Richmond is having a special event on Mother’s Day. Sunday, May 11 from 9am until 5pm. The first 500 mom’s will receive a free four-inch potted plant. There will also be free family photos from 1-2pm. The theme this year is “Art in Bloom,” showcasing the garden from an artistic prospective. The band playing for the event is Glennroy Bailey, he plays smooth jazz. There is no cost for the concert and you can bring a blanket or lawn chairs to sit out and listen to him. The Gardens encourages visitors not to bring a picnic since food will be available for purchase.
