House Sold Over Unpaid Dental Bill
May 20th 2008 by Kelly in GeneralA woman that has been a Salt Lake City homeowner for the past 15 years is in danger of losing her home. She has an unpaid dental bill from over a decade ago for $300. Over the years the collection agency tried to collect the dept and it has now increased to $958. The courts ordered Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office to sell the home as real estate to pay off the debt. Even though the woman originally purchased the home in the early 90s for $51,000, the home was auctioned off for $1,550 to Jarmac Properties. The woman said that no notification was given to her telling her her home would be auctioned off and that her home was her only asset.
Do you think they’ll really be able to force her out of that house? It doesn’t seem legal.
