New Search Feature on CurbPlaces

May 23rd 2008 by Kelly in Charlottesville, CurbPlaces, New Features / Updates, Real Estate

We’ve improved our Search feature on the CurbPlaces website. Now you can search using Realtor name, address, street, neighborhood, city, and MLS number.

What other ways would you like us to let you search for a home?

  1. Jim Duncan Says:

I’d like to search (and save it) by a user-defined polygon and by school district.

Where are you pulling the neighborhood data?

Might there be a way to integrate Zillow’s neighborhood data?

  2. Daniel Says:

Jim: Right now you can search and save by a user-defined rectangle (a type of polygon):

    1) Move and zoom the map until it covers the area you are interested in.

    2) Adjust the search controls (price, square feet etc.) to optionally filter your results

    3) Click the “Save this Search” button below the map and above the search results.

If you haven’t already, you will be asked to create a CurbPlaces account and enter your email address. You can choose to have CurbPlaces automatically perform the search for you on a daily or weekly basis. When the search results change, you will automatically get an email.

For schools, you can type the name of a school into the search box (such as “monticello high school”) to quickly zoom in on that school and the surrounding area. We are looking into plotting district lines on the map.

As far as other neighborhood data: We would like to add as much data as possible and are exploring everything.

    Thanks for the suggestions!
