Steve Keene Art Swap at the Paramount

Tomorrow is first Fridays. Along with all the galleries opening up tomorrow night Steve Keene is hosting an Art Swap at the Paramount Theater. To take part in the swap, drop art off at 5 and start swapping at 6:30. Steve Keene will have some of his art on display during the event. If you have some art that you don’t hang on the walls anymore, bring it in and see if you can swap it out for something different. This is the 2nd year Keene has done the swap, so maybe you’re ready to swap again from an exchange you made last year.
Keene has sold more than 140,000 paintings, he makes his art accessible to everyone. Each one is unique even though they are created in multiples. Keene said “I want buying my paintings to be like buying a CD: It’s cheap it’s art and it changes your life, but the object has no status.”
The art swap is a wonderful idea, sometimes you just get tired of the art you have hanging in your house, now once a year, you have the chance to swap it with someone else that might have the perfect update for you.
