Bel Rio takes over old Sax space
September 30th 2008 by Kelly in Restaurant, Restaurant Opening
Today there is a sign in the window of Sax next to La Taza in Belmont. New restaurant? The note on the sign says to call 434-295-8700(this is the phone number for The Hook), not a direct line to anyone for further information. When I looked it up online the only further information that I found was in the public records Bel Rio, LLC has applied for a beer, wine, & mixed beverage on premises license to sell or manufacture alcoholic beverages.

We are trying to get Bel Rio up and running as soon as possible. We currently plan on being open the first week of November. We will post a sign when we have a definite date.
The phone number should be 434-979-5299.

I have a son who is a talented blues/jazz performer. Marshall Ruffin, III is recording his second EP in Georgia now. He’ll be home for part of the holidays. Please check out his myspace or website to entertain the idea of having him perform while he is home in December. I am a graduate student at UVA/SON and my husband is the Chief Health Care Technology Officer. We intend to get a group together and come to your establishment soon. Thank you for your hard work to bring music to others. I see how hard it is to make a living as a musician. As a cancer survivor & a nurse I am researching massage for stress reduction among women at high risk for developing breast & ovarian cancer. Maybe one day we can organize a fund raising concert. Perhaps some of Marshall’s buddies from the Berklee College of Music would agree to attend. Thanks again and I look forward to visiting your club. Kia Ora, Paula
