USA Today reports on the Clifton Inn Special

October 24th 2008 by Kelly in Charlottesville

USA Today reports “With Recession Looming, high-end lodging offer luxe for less.” The Clifton Inn usually runs for $295 per night, but is offering the bargain rate of $129 per night. I don’t consider $129 a bargain for a normal hotel, but The Clifton Inn is something special, and breakfast is included in the price. Possibly a Christmas gift idea for your wife? Also, an idea to book for family that is coming for Thanksgiving.

Every room at The Clifton is unique and this distinguishes the Clifton from every other hotel chain in Charlottesville.

I took my husband to The Clifton for our anniversary last year. I surprised him by getting an overnight babysitter and then set up the room before showing up at the hotel that night. They were overly accommodating in helping me pull off the surprise by letting me into the room early and the lovely decor in the room and cozy fireplace made the night out particularly special. This rate is unheard of for The Clifton. Thanks for the tip.
