Veterans Day is next Tuesday…November 11th! Here are some fun ways to check out some of the events around Charlottesville and learn more about our History.

Pack a picnic and enjoy the outdoors at Peaks of Otter Winery. From Noon-5 this weekend Nov 8-9, Nov 15 & 16th and Nov 22-23 the winery will be open and have plenty of ciders, apples, jams, jellies, and wine.

Then: Tour Popular Forest while you’re in the area. Popular Forest was Thomas Jefferson’s private retreat when he wanted to enjoy private time with his family.

or visit …The Bedford Museum since it is also closeby and open to the public. The Museum and Genealogy Library are free and open to the public, but a $3 donation is suggested per adult.

The National D-Day Monument is also not far away, and is open daily. Self-guided tours are available for $5.
