Happy Rickshaw
November 21st 2008 by Kelly in Charlottesville, Local Event
The Bike Prom was so much fun…when I finally figured out where it was located. It was in the Happy Rickshaw’s warehouse at the IX building, next to the Fox station, it was really hidden if you didn’t know where it was though. They strung up red lights, streamed bicycles wheels from the ceiling, kegs, margaritas, wine, a photobooth and rickshaw rides. This was their 3rd annual Bike Prom Party and I’ll be sure not to miss it next year.
They took donations for drinks and hopefully they made a lot of money for their charity. Rickshaw rides are usually $3-$7 dollars depending on where you want to ride to in Charlottesville. I had never ridden in one before and I would recommend trying it. The Happy Rickshaw guys made it fun because the floor was slick in the warehouse and our rickshaw driver danced and raced us around the room turning through obstacles. I would have paid $7 for the good time we had on the ride.
