Step Back in Time with the Jefferson Thanksgiving Festival

Tomorrow, Saturday November 22nd on the downtown mall, The Jefferson Thanksgiving Festival will start off with a parade from The Ice Park down to the Pavilion with hundreds of costumed people from Charlottesville’s past. The parade(from around 10-12) will include revolutionary pipe and drums, dances and musket firing.

From 12-5 there will be horse drawn carriage rides on the 4th street crossing of the mall.

Dolly Madison’s Thanksgiving dinner at the Omni will begin at 7. Guests are encouraged to dress as people would have dressed 200 years ago but costumes are not required. From 7-10pm there will be dancing led by the Cuckoo Assembly Dancers in the ball room at the Omni to period music. Tickets to dinner and the ball are $30 or tickets to just the ball are $10.
