The Daily Progress Reported: The Design Discovery class at UVa inspired 4 2nd year students to develop a new body armor vest to possibly save lives. The class helps students come up with novel ideas and ultimately market them. One team member, O’Dell teamed up with Ann Bailey, Adam Rogers and Dan Abebayehu and proposed that the team create a better armor vest. O’Dell is currently serving on the National Guard while completing his college education, he will most likely be deployed to Iraq later this year. Later this week the vest with go through a second round of testing to measure the strength and durability of the vest. More about the story here from the Daily Progress
