Tavola, in Belmont opened for business last Thursday night!  Today I got an email from Megan Headley about the wine classes that she will be teaching on Monday evenings.  I included her email, and the class descriptions below if you’d like to sign up early…

——————

tavola opened last Thursday and we are happily serving up delicious rustic Italian food and wine Tuesday through Saturday from 5pm in our cozy downtown Belmont spot.  On Monday nights, starting August 3rd, I will be teaching wine classes.  This is your advance invitation to register!  Please feel free to pass this invitation along as well.  Details below:

Classes will be conducted by former enoteca general manager and Italian oenophile, Megan Headley, who will demystify Italy’s dizzying array of regions, grapes, and producers and bring to the life the magic of terroir-drive, old world wines. Each two hour class will focus on different aspects of tasting wine and will highlight five regional old-world wines paired with small plates from the tavola kitchen. Classes will be structured and educational, yet fun and unintimidating with a goal of unearthing what you like and how to express it in the language of wine.

A single class is $45 or a book of four is $165 and can be used for any class in the summer series. Each class is limited to twenty spaces, but a waiting list will be kept in the event of cancellations. Payment (by cash or check) is required upon reserving and classes are non-refundable. If you cannot attend a class for which you have registered, you must call at least 48 hours prior to the class in order to receive a class credit. 24 hour cancellations or no-shows will be billed in full. This applies to gift certificates as well.  Please reply by e-mail, stop in during the week between 11am and 3pm, or call Megan at 434.972.9463.
